Kilometers for Karen
Karen Stone Korman lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer on September 27, 2012.
To honor her fight, a group of her friends and family come together at the Sandy Sprint every year. "Kilometers for Karen" keeps on keepin' on, for the one and only KSK.
The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2019, 22,530* women will hear, "You have Ovarian Cancer" for the first time.
2019 will take 13,980* women from their loved ones.
90% of those new cancer cases will be the same type as Karen's: epithelial. But only 15% of those cases will be a stage 1 early diagnosis.
There are still so many women, like Karen, fighting for their lives. They are our mothers, our grandmothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, coworkers, nieghbors, and friends. We wouldn't be here without them. And this event wouldn't be, without you. Your life-saving donations do just that, year after year.
Thank you for considering a donation that will directly affect the lives of thousands of women.
