This week's Teal Spotlight Team is Wil's Warriors
William deVry is the Celebrity Ambassador for the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Last year was his very first Sandy Sprint, and he had a small team of committed fans. This year, Wil’s Warriors has more than doubled in size.
The team on the day of the Sprint will be a group of Wil’s fans from around the country. Many of them have gotten to know SROCF and took part in other events. They have become dedicated supporters of the organization. He even has an ovarian cancer survivor on his team this year too! Some fans who can’t be there in person have signed up as sleepwalkers.
“I’ve developed a deep passion for this cause. I’m using my voice to empower everyone to play a role in the fight against ovarian cancer. I truly believe that the more people that join this Teal Army, the more progress can be made.”
Several team members have used social media, especially Facebook to fundraise. The team is more than halfway to their fundraising goal. On race day a few team members are sure to be in superhero costumes!
“At the Sandy Sprint, there is a true sense of community. It gives you a deep appreciation for life, courage and strength and the feeling we’re all in this together.”
